A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Kea'nia. A loving, free-spirited, and knowledgeable caregiver in the South Florida area. I was a full spectrum doula for 2 years in Brooklyn, NY where I offered support to families during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I moved to Miami during the pandemic to start Midwifery school! For the past three years I have been supporting families as a student midwife and birth assistant. It's an honor, and joy, to support so many dynamic families throughout the years and I look forward to caring for your families needs!
I have a sweet spot for postpartum because this is when parents need their community most. And trust me, postpartum lasts much longer than a few months after birth. I want to help you ease the weight of parenting. I enjoy helping parents lean into the "new normal" while maintaining their personal autonomy. I offer support with feeding, naps, meal prep, light housekeeping, intuitive massage, herbal remedies, nutrition counseling, & newborn education.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Before doula work, I was an artistic babysitter that loves to have fun and explore alongside the children I work with. Raised in a family of educators, I've been involved with adolescent/youth development from volunteerism in high school to my career as a youth counselor. I have a nurturing, quirky personality that loves trying all forms of art and having fun with kids! I strongly believe that learning happens through hands-on experiences and creativity. I enjoy watching my kids explore and find new ways to problem solve. I love creating fun and educational activities. Healthy critter shaped snacks, park trips, painting, dancing, museums, reading, and so much more. With my experience as both a personal babysitter and youth counselor, I'm comfortable assisting with bedtime, celebrating accomplishments, appropriately addressing behavior, and creating engaging activities focused around educational goals. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and I would love to join your family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Honoring the wishes of the family and creating a rapport. We will be spending a lot of time around each other so making sure we always on the same team. It's also even more important to build trust with the little ones.

My experience with special needs children...

I have limited experience working with special needs children, but I am open to support families in need and follow all direction given to give your little one the love and care they deserve.

The most important part about being a nanny...

oh gosh! There are so many. I have to say most of my favorite nanny moments are when we're moving our bodies. Think making muffins while listening and dancing to fun music. I really value the silly moments.
