More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I earned my Bachelors in Family Science in 2017. While earning my degree, I worked with an after school program teaching, mentoring, and supporting a ground of 6th graders. I also had an internship running a support group with children experience grief. In addition, I severed as a chapter Director for a non profit campus organization that put on a summer camp for children 6 to 18. To prepare for the camp, I received training to support children with special needs, emergency procedures, and children safety. I know work full time for the non profit organization and support hosting/developing these trainings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love arts and crafts, playing sports, going on walks, and reading. I also like to learn what activities the child/children enjoy and see how we can develop their talents. We can use the activities they enjoy to also enhance their learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I value building a relationship with the child/children where they feel safe, respected, and loved. I also want to have a trusting, supportive, and open communication with the family. The role of a Nanny is to support the whole family, and I strive to the best I can for each individual family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I have yet to serve as a full time nanny, I have worked in a babysitter capacity my whole life. My family ran a full time daycare while I was growing up, so I have always worked with kids in some capacity. My favorite story comes from working at camp with a group of kiddos. We had a camper who hurt her foot before camp, and was unable to participate in certain activities. Instead of letting this negatively impact her, she went on to act as my little helper and supported the rest of camp. At the end of the week, she went on and on about how much fun she had working with me. Fast forward a few weeks later when we saw the kiddos again, this campers mom went on and on about how her daughter was helping out at home. When her mother asked why she was being helpful, she said, "Because this is what I did with Kiki and I miss her!" It reminds me, that kids pick up on all the things we do, and sometimes the smallest activities have the biggest impact!

Kennedy J. - Seeking Work in Atlanta

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Atlanta, GA: Kennedy J.

Hi, my name is Kennedy and I’m 20 years old. I love working out, eating lots of fruit, my favorite color is brown and I love to sing Disney music. I’ve worked with children for over two years, in aftercare, as a teacher’s assistant, and with siblings and family. What I enjoy most about working with kids is that they’re far from the “ignorant” reputation people give them. They’re smart, curious, and require you to see the world through an optimistic, light-filled lens that adulthood doesn’t always allow. I appreciate everything I gain from working with kids just as much as what I’m able to give them.
