I love to read, craft, play board games, plan & complete activities like baking, science experiments, etc.
I also love to be outdoors & explore the valley. During the summer I've taken kids on river floats, hikes, and to fun swimming holes in the area.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Adapting to children's different personalities & needs. No two children are the same and I think flexibility is really important when handling challenges. It's also necessary to adapt to different parenting styles & try to align with the family you're working for so the children have consistent boundaries and expectations. This reduces behavioral problems & provides a sense of security for the kids.

My experience with special needs children...

As a swim instructor I did one on one lessons for students with special needs (ex. Cerebral Palsy, down syndrome, ASD), behavioral issues, or other needs (ex. extreme anxiety, overactivity)

The most important part about being a nanny...

After I returned from vacation one of my boys said he missed me so much & the other babysitter just wasn't the same- he didn't like that she spoke to him like a baby, because "he's a big kid"! It was really touching to know the kids loved me as much as I loved them & that they appreciated the respect I treated them with.
