I volunteered last summer as a counselor for the University of Maryland's chapter of Camp Kesem, a sleep-away camp that supports children age 5-18 through a parent's cancer journey.

Additionally, I’ve spent the last 4 years as a go-to sitter for my local community. Whether it’s helping neighbors with school pickups or babysitting for family friends during weekends and evenings!

Walks to the park/playground, back pocket games (riddles, I spy, group stories), watching family friendly movies (Disney, Pixar, Anime, etc.), digital games (Roblox), arts and crafts, and homework help!

My time in Kesem taught me that childcare is not just about supervising kids, but also paying attention to the small details that make a child feel truly seen, like remembering their favorite stories, noticing their moods, and recognizing the little non-verbal cues that tell me exactly what they need in a particular moment.
