A little bit about me

I’m a single mom to my amazing 3.5 year daughter. I used to be a babysitter/nanny for over 16 years. I also was a GSRP Assistant Preschool teacher for 2 years, a paraprofessional for school aged children, K-5, 1 year. I worked mainly with special needs children, developmental delays, and all levels of children's developmental levels. Also, I am First Aid/CPR/AED certified infant through adult, along with other early childhood and school aged children certifications. I’ve worked in different industries as well such as manufacturing/production mainly in the automotive industry. I am looking to go back into working with children as it’s always been be true passion. I started as a "momma's helper" at the age of 7, started babysitting at the age of 11 and was also a nanny for 4 years. I love being apart of children's developmental by engaging them in learning/educational activities, helping with homework, and all that comes with caring for and helping a child grow.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My absolute favorite part of being a nanny is the ability to be an integral part of a child's development. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a child grow and progress while in my care. The fact that I am with the child for a significant amount of the day makes me realize I largely influence them and can impact their lives. It is a huge responsibility, but also an honor and a privilege.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with a multitude of children with special needs from down syndrome, ASD, developmental delays, learning disabilities, behavioral problems and more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories was for a family I was a nanny for who had 2 girls and at this particular moment they were 6 and 8 years old. I would pick them up from school, give them a snack, help them with their homework/school projects and every day I would would take them to soccer practice and dance practice or help them practice at home. One of the games I attended for the 6 yr. old her team won and she scored the most goals scoring 5 goals & she ran up to me & thanked me for taking her to practice as well as helping her practice at home & giving her pointers. Then the 8 yr. old had a major dance recital which was on my day off but she was so nervous as she had a solo and asked if I would still come, her knowing it was a far drive for me and it was my day off. I said yes of course I will! She nailed the recital & her solo, we practiced. She gave me the biggest hug afterwards & said "thank you for coming I couldn't have done this with out your help and you being here to support me!"
