More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience in assisting a preschool classroom. As well as multiple daycares where I was involved in age-appropriate lesson plan making, skill building, food handling, and much more. I also still regularly help my younger sister (12) with school work, life advice, and confidence-boosting hygiene tips. I also helped care for my siblings when they were infants and would regularly feed, change, and bathe them. Outside of personal experience I also would help out in the infants room of my previous daycare from time to time.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going on walks and to the park when weather permits. As well as just getting out in the backyard and making fun memories at home. When it starts to get chilly indoor sensory pits, age appropriate crafts & (parent approved) holiday movies are a must. With parents permission I also love getting kids involved with cooking when possible. As I always remembered it being a fun learning experience that definitely played a part in me loving cooking today. At the end of the day, the activity I enjoy the most is making yours and your kids lives easier and more enjoyable!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making a positive impact in both the parents and kids lives.
My experience with special needs children...
My sister has adhd and is on the spectrum so I have a lot of personal first hand family experience. I’ve also worked with a couple nonverbal children 4< in my time with my preschool and daycares. I feel very strongly about advocating for the needs of special needs children and their families, therefore I feel as though due to my strong feelings this would become too long, but I am happy to discuss this further with any family with special needs children who may be interested!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
There was this super sweet selectively-mute 3 year old girl at one of the daycares I worked at, she wouldn’t talk to anyone besides her brother who was also in our class. But after a couple weeks of games and stickers she opened up to me and BOY could little miss talk when she wanted to!! It actually made me cry the day it happened (not in front of her obviously!) but it warmed my heart so much to know that this kid trusted me enough to be the person to try and talk to. I’ve always wanted to be a safe space for people and getting to be that person is the best gift money can never buy.
