A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kenedey and I am currently completing my last two classes to earn a degree in elementary education from University of Houston. I have 11 years of paid professional experience in child care and 4 years paid professional experience as a live out nanny.
My passion in life has always been helping children succeed in anyway that I can.
I love getting to know each child so that I can see the world from their eyes which in turn helps me curate better activities/lessons for each individual child. My approach with discipline has always been firm in setting boundaries, yet gentle and understanding to the situation. I do not believe in raising my voice at any living thing simply because I do not view it as constructive to any situation. I believe that children need firm boundaries and rules set in place but do understand that a child is still learning how to be a person so mistakes will happen!

I simply love viewing the world through a child’s eye so always go out of my way to do activities that allow that insight and excitement to flourish!

The most important part of being a nanny is recognizing the impact you have on a child’s life. You have to be so thoughtful with everything that you say and do.
I view nannying as taking care of my much younger siblings. I treat every child as they are my family. I treat them with respect, understanding, patience, diligence, kindness, and love day in and day out.

The most important part about being a nanny...

During the last week of my placement with the sweetest 4 year old girl, we were laying out on the boat docks trying to see fish through the slits between the wood. We popped our heads up for a moment to watch a mama and baby manatee frolic in the bay and she laid her head on my shoulder and said “I wub you Kenny! You my bes frin”. My heart shattered and melted all at the same time. It shattered because I knew this was one of my last days with her. My heart melted because this was such a pure and simple moment that showed me we were buddies for life.
I cherish moments like these!
