More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I nannied nine hours (8am-5pm) every week day over the past summer, and I loved the experience. It was four children, one boy and three girls, ages ranging from five to twelve. I developed a multitude of helpful traits with this experience, including conflict-resolution skills, patience, time-management, problem-solving, and empathy. I crafted our schedule, did groceries and errands, cooked, cleaned, and provided transportation. I still babysit for them often, and will nanny again for them this summer. I babysat in high-school too, which provided similar learning experiences but in difference situations and often smaller doses. I tutored in high school and have continued that into college, another practice of patience and empathy.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Parks (trails, playgrounds), museums, reading, going to the library, coloring, arts and crafts, cooking (age-dependent)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Consistency, adaptability, and empathy. Kids are having a genuine human experience just like anyone else. It's about having a balance; being able to have serious talks and have fun, being strict and letting them have some control, knowing when to put a foot down and when they're just being kids. A dynamic with respect, trust, and openness both ways (between child, nanny, and even parent) is what should always be emphasized.
My experience with special needs children...
Have worked with children with ADHD and anger-issues but never anything beyond that. I would be open to learning and have absolutely no objection to working with a child with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The day before I left to move to MI for college, the last day I nannied, the kids made pancakes with their parents before I arrived. We all sat down for breakfast together. The kids had made cards and put up balloons and streamers. We spent the day talking about the summer and looking back at pictures. The kids cried when I left the house that afternoon, it was a heartfelt moment and a sentimental day.

I’m a stay at home mom with previous work experience in the healthcare field. (I have taken CPR & BLS classes, my cert. is expired.) I’ve had lots of experience babysitting younger cousins, my own younger brothers, the neighbors children, and even babies of family friends. I enjoy staying active and making homemade dinners every evening for my family. Some things I love to do in my spare time is finding new meal recipes to try, reading, writing, and spending time with my husband and son. Due to me being a stay at home mom, I will need to bring my toddler (1.5 year old) along.
