A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kennedy and I nannied all summer of 2020 and it was honeslty one of the best experiences I have had. I have always been surrounded by kids with my moms daycare and endless of new cousins so it almost comes a little more easier for me. I also have a sister with Down Syndrome and I love her with all I have, I definitely would love to watch a child with a disability. I almost prefer it with how I’ve been involved with those with disabilities. I am very active and love doing activities of most and very into my health so meal prepping for the kids won’t ever be a problem, I enjoy it myself. I’m the same with cleaning and helping pick up, I understand its hard when you’re busy with work also so it’d be no problem. I went to STI for my EMT certification so I am trained in CPR and First Aid!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I used to help prepare and hand out food at the Banquet in Sioux Falls with my church and loved playing with the kids in between jobs! They honestly were some of the sweetest kids I’ve met.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I definitely am a kid at heart! I love any arts and crafts inside, I read lot on my own so reading to them would be no problem. As in outdoor activities I can’t think of something I wouldn’t do. I would take the twins I used to watch hiking, swimming, four wheeling, and more! I was actually asked to work with them because they wanted their kids to be more active so that worked perfectly.

The most important part about being a nanny...

That the kids have fun and feel like they aren’t alone. Its hard for busy parents to be there all the time and I’d love to help out for the children and the parent. I’ve always wanted to be that fun babysitter that they remember when they need a good memory to think of.

My experience with special needs children...

I grew up with a sister with Down Syndrome and it has made me half the person I am today. I feel as if I connect better with kids with special needs because of my sister, I also have a friend Katie with it and she is the goofiest girl ever! I would go to the YMCA for a program ran for special needs kids and would help out and I miss it every year. There is nothing more I would love than to work with someone with special needs!

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I wouldn’t have to watch them for a week because a parent didn’t have to work and I finally got to go back and they ran to me and hugged me. Seeing how excited they were for me to be back makes it so worth getting up early.
