My favorite moments are those when I realize the work that I do, sticks. It’s always little things, like children washing their hands in the specific order I taught them. Or folding washcloths and whispering to themselves 1, 2 as they bring the corners together. Children recognizing that I am an emotionally safe adult capable of helping them regulate and seeking me out for co-regulation. I feel so fortunate in these moments.
