A little bit about me

My name is Kenzie. I started working with children the summer of my junior year of high school as a camp counselor, and it quickly became something really meaningful to me. I’ve loved kids for as long as I can remember, and I once had strong aspirations of becoming a teacher it's something I still think about. Being a nanny feels like a meaningful way to continue living out that passion in a more personal setting.
I understand that many parents are balancing full schedules and full lives. I don’t see nannying as replacing that role, but as standing in the gap in a supportive way helping lighten the load while being a steady, attentive presence for their children. Creating an environment where kids feel seen, encouraged, and cared for truly matters to me.
I approach childcare with responsibility, emotional awareness, and heart. It’s important to me that both parents and children feel supported and at ease.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with children of various ages through my role as a daycare teacher at the The Cornwell Center. I cared for children ages 3–5 in the classroom, guiding their learning, supporting their emotional growth, and creating a space where they felt safe and valued. I also worked with older children, ages 5–10, in the aftercare program, helping with homework, mediating conflicts, and making sure each child felt seen and supported. While my hands-on experience is strongest with these age groups, I’m open and eager to work with children of other ages as well, adapting my approach to meet their unique needs and personalities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy a mix of creative, active, and educational activities with children, including reading stories, doing arts and crafts, playing outside, and engaging in games that encourage teamwork and imagination. I really enjoy cultivating an environment where kids can just be kids where they don’t have to lose their innocence too early while incorporating basic life skills when I can to help them grow into kind, confident, and capable humans.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of the most important parts of being a nanny, especially to me, is making sure children feel truly seen and heard. Growing up as an only child, I know how meaningful it is to have someone notice and listen to you, and I try to bring that same care to every child I work with. I also aim to gently guide them, incorporate small life skills when I can, and create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where they can grow with confidence and joy.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While I haven’t been a nanny professionally yet, one of my favorite parts of working at The Cornwell Center was helping many children grow and come out of their shells. I especially loved supporting shy kids, which felt personal to me since I was shy growing up myself. I’ve learned that sometimes children aren’t really shy they’re just figuring out what it looks like to show up and engage. Being able to guide and encourage multiple children at once while noticing each of their individual personalities and growth was incredibly rewarding.
