A little bit about me

I am a lifelong childcare professional, educator, coach, and mother with a genuine love for children. I founded and operated my own licensed preschool, caring for children from newborn through age 12. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and have taught and coached in both public and private schools. I have also worked with high-risk middle and high school youth and children with autism and other disabilities.

I am the matriarch of my family, and now that my own children are grown, I miss the laughter and energy of a busy household. I love to cook and even created my own family cookbook! I am currently taking online graduate courses toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I would love to bring my experience, warmth, patience, and nurturing nature to a family and become someone they can truly trust.

Lisa Branson
"Kerry has a special gift with children. she is firm, fun and consistent. She was very good at anticipating the needs of my children and then meeting them as individuals. She is very creative and good at directing the behavior of children with positive reinforcement. She is good at seeing what each child is good at and building their self confidence."

Toni Rinker
"Kerry was the best with kids. All kinds of different kids loved Kerry and still do this day as they have grown up. Kerry has a genuine love and concern for kids and can always make kids feel included, wanted and liked. No matter the circumstances. Kerry is very organized, dependable, compassionate, and kind. She always comes up with fun activities for kids, weather it be sports, crafts, real life experiences, no matter the task Kerry is always up for it and the kids seems to always love doing them with her. Kerry has coached for different schools, directed kid camps throughout Wyoming and Utah which all seemed to be successful. When kids learn that Ms. Kerry wouldn’t be their teacher, coach or director they were all heartbroken and so sad to see her go. I feel that your children would be just as lucky to have Kerry as Kerry will be having your kids. I promise there will never be a dull moment with Kerry and there will be lots of fun, laughter and love in your home."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My childcare experience includes working as a High School Teacher, Middle School Teacher, 1st Grade Teacher, and Preschool Teacher, as well as founding, owning, and directing my own licensed preschool and childcare center. I have cared for children from infancy through adolescence, including children with autism and other disabilities. I am also an involved and devoted mom who raised successful, confident, well-developed adult children. Caring for children has been a central and deeply rewarding part of both my professional and personal life.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy keeping children engaged with a fun mix of activities, including park and recreational outings, making homemade playdough, baking cookies, age-appropriate cooking, homework help, puzzles, games, crafts, reading, outdoor play, and imaginative activities. I also believe children can have fun while learning important life skills. I enjoy teaching age-appropriate habits such as good hygiene, manners, keeping their space clean, helping around the house, and taking responsibility for their belongings and actions. My goal is to make learning, growing, and becoming independent feel positive and rewarding.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is recognizing that every family member plays a unique, essential role. True success comes when parents and children work together as a cohesive team- and my job is to make this happen by creating a support system where everyone thrives, excels, and has fun.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for and working with children with autism and other disabilities, both in educational and childcare settings. I understand that every child is unique and may communicate, learn, and express their needs differently. I am patient, observant, adaptable, and comfortable creating structure while also allowing children to learn and grow at their own pace. I focus on each child’s strengths, celebrate their progress, and create a safe, encouraging environment where they feel accepted, understood, and confident.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite teaching moments happened while I was teaching at my first school. I loved watching a child who was struggling suddenly have that “aha!” moment—the excitement on their face when they realized, “I can do this!” Those moments have always stayed with me. Whether I was teaching a classroom of students, caring for preschoolers, or helping my own children grow, I have always loved being part of those little breakthroughs. As a nanny, I think those everyday moments—learning something new, overcoming a challenge, gaining confidence, or simply seeing a child proud of themselves—are what make caring for children so rewarding.
