Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a behavioral therapist with kids of preschool age with autism, adhd, and other developmental disabilities. I have nannied and tutored since age 15 with ages all ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading, exploring parks, crafting ( love coming up with quick and easy motor skill activities), baking fun treats, going to grab snacks,and teaching life skills (checking out at a grocery store, hand washing, etc)
The most important part about being a nanny...
What mattters most to me about being a nanny is safety first and foremost. Outside of safety, I would love for the kids I work with to learn and have some fun! I like to pair nannying with a positive and safe experience for children while sneaking in learning along the way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for special needs children working as a behavioral therapist. The children I work with have developmental disabilities and I work on teaching communication and ways to cope with triggering environments safely, calmly, and effectively. My job was to help these children become ready for kindergarten by teaching basic hygiene and how to stay seated for table work objectives.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was going to a pumpkin patch with my client’s family and client, and the child I worked with ordered her whole meal (hot chococolate, pumpkin pie) all by herself! It was very cute and felt great to know my hard work was paying off. We had a blast!
