I’ve cared for children ages 5 months - 5 years at my current daycare job. I’ve babysat kids ages 6-9 years. And i’ve peer mentored kids ages 10-12.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a teacher, I love to do educational activities with kids along with art activities. I enjoy reading with the kids and listening to music. I am a big advocate for bringing children outside as much as possible, so going on walks/ going to the park is a big activity for me as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny/ working in childcare for me is setting these kids up to thrive as they get older. Since working with kids i’ve noticed how much smarter they are and how much easier they learn then at first glance. Weather it’s seeing a baby start to take first steps, seeing a toddler try to mimic an elephant sound, or seeing a preschooler learning to spell out words it always impresses me and I love being a part of the learning process. These years are the early foundations of life and I believe they need spaces and people that will keep them safe and nurtured while also giving them space to do things independently in order to grow in to great adults.

I am in no way specially trained for special needs children however I teach a few toddlers with autism at my current job.
