A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Kinya! I am 21 and have had a passion for kids since I was a kid myself. I have always loved working with children, and I hope to pursue a career in it forever. I grew up with a mother who worked at my school with special needs children. From the age of 7, when my first little brother was born, I have taken care of my brothers. I was always babysitting, and just treating them as my own. When I entered high school I created my own business of working children's birthday parties as an entertainer/princess. I absolutely loved it. I was very big (and still am) into theatre, so I'm a great storyteller. I just recently completed an internship with The Walt Disney Company, working at Walt Disney World in Orlando. It was the best experience I have ever had. I learned so much. I believe the most important part is helping children grow, and learn and have their own voice, while also guiding them and taking care of them. It is our responsibility to be there for them, and create a bond.

My experience with special needs children...

My mom worked with special needs children while I was growing up, so I had exposure to it. Also, I have a cousin with autism and I spent a lot of time with him growing up.
