A little bit about me

Hi my name is Kioni Cortes, I’m 18 years old, I don’t have any experience in being a nanny whatsoever and I don’t know how to cook but I did grow up with much younger siblings and I had to raise them and take care of them. Personally I think kids are angels they are always so full of light, and if you know how to understand them you and that child will learn to trust one another have fun, while also being responsible. I’m a very respectful individual I love making people laugh and helping out other people, it’s always been my favorite thing to see people smile because that’s all I do, I love to sing dance go outside with my boyfriend sometimes, and i also love playing with my cats tiki and nala.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I always grew up with my parents barely being home, so I learned to take care of my siblings, as I got older I started watching other people's children, it was always fun for me to meet new people and to learn knew things about them. I even learned how to do hair when I was nine years old and I was doing hair for other people, and there children as I got older. I’m not to fond of cooking but I’m willing to learn whatever I’m taught I did work in restaurants prior to looking for jobs in other industries, and I learned fast like I can learn fast with any task. I know if I’m just given the opportunity and the right guidance I can do anything.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to the park to play freeze tag, or hide and seek, or soccer, or baseball, or basketball, I love having tea parties playing dress up singing dancing, making jokes, giving piggy back rides, playing board games, watching movies and cartoons, playing video games, going swimming, amusement parks, going to the store to get snacks for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important thing to me about being a nanny is, the children they play a huge role, they are the most important thing, and my job is to not only make sure there always smiling, but to make sure they are always safe, and taken care of.

My experience with special needs children...

I have two cousins who are both autistic, my first cousins name is Ayana, and I have been hanging out with her since I could remember, sometimes she would forget how to do certain things so I would help her remember, she would also wonder off sometimes and I would lead her back home, she has trouble expressing her feelings but I pay attention to signs like how she is reacting to a situation, and if it’s to much for her, she has trouble remembering people too so I always would remind her, she’s very smart and funny and fun to be around I love her entire soul. My other cousins name is Clarence he’s also autistic, and I have been around him since I was a child my self, he gets very excited around the people he loves, and sometimes he gets upset when he doesn’t understand something I’ve always been so patient and kind with him, he’s an angel and he’s always smiling, he has the biggest imagination and it warms my heart we need more people like them in the world.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This little boy I used to babysit he was three years old at the time his name is LJ and we where outside playing with the ball and a blue car drives by, he grabs my hand and says look Kioni a blue car. It was absolutely the most wholesome moment ever, I seriously almost cried lol.
