I'm a mom of 3 boys over age 18. I've been a sitter/nanny for over 15 years and a nurse for over 20 focused mainly on pediatrics. I've also nannied for over 10 years for the same family in Woburn and another in Bedford for 3 years until the children were of age.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing soccer, jump rope, arts and crafts, baking, painting/coloring, ball, walking, reading. Anything using children's fine motor skills and memory is also great fun for kids.

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure the child is safe at all times, but the second most important is how and what you teach the e children. It's very important to teach children very early in life and to stay consistent with it. Scientists have proven that you can actually increase a child's IQ by 5-10 points if you work with them daily before the age of 5.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I've had many favorite moments as a nanny but I would have to say my favorite has always been when a child is struggling with doing a task or homework or even potty training, then after working with the child, all of a sudden they do the task correctly. To see that is the greatest feeling in the world because they are glowing with pride. It's really very cute to see.

I am a mother of 3 grown children 2 daughter and one son my youngest daughter is now 24.
I previously owned a large family daycare, caring for up to 10 children in my home. I was assisted by at least one assistant most of the time if not two, although this was not required I felt it was important to be able to give each child one on one dedicated care when it was wanted or needed. I ended up closing for several reasons one of the foremost reasons was to further my education which I have done. I am now working on my 3rd degree!
I missed the connections with the families so much that I continued to nanny while I went back to school.
I have found being a nanny to be extremely rewarding! Being a nanny gives me a closeness to the children I care for that I was unable to have with the children in my large family daycare. I can teach, and cuddle the children while still creating a structured loving environment while being a part of raising the whole child.
