A little bit about me

I am a 38 year old mother of 2 girls ages 10 and 13. I currently work as a preschool teacher. I love engaging and interacting with kiddos of all ages doing activities, crafts, playing games, teaching, tutoring, playing with toys, sports, music, reading etcetera I am very kind, respectful, patient, and fun. I am responsible and I will abide by any house rules. I am extremely empathetic so creating bonds and building relationships is something that comes easy for me. I am easy to talk to and I am great at active listening. With kiddos of course things are not always peachy keen. I am able to handle and diffuse meltdowns/tantrums practicing self regulation techniques. How to negotiate with toddlers and older children. Getting children in bed and asleep before overstimulation kicks in.
I love all animals. I think animals play an important role in children's lives. I have a great amount of love in my soul and I would be delighted and honored to be able to share my love to any children.

I currently am a preschool teacher. I care for children between the ages of 2-7.
Volunteered 3 days a week taking my 20 year old autistic neighbor/friend out on walks around our neighborhood for 1 year.
Ive babysat and nannied many children of different ages off and on for the last 11 years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters to me most about being a nanny is building a trusted relationship between the family and I. To be responsible, kind and patient. The most important part though is calmly respond, be prepared and have the knowledge to know what to do in case any such emergency were to occur.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a 20 year old male with autism.
I have cared for a 3 year old boy with autism and who was non verbal.
I have cared for a 4 year old boy with moderate cognitive delay.
I have assisted in a special needs elementary classroom for 6 months.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when a trusted bond begins growing between the child and me. Another two favorite moments are when Im able to teach something new or whenever I make the kiddos laugh or smile.
