I’m a former healthcare professional (Pediatrics and OBGYN) turned career nanny! I love working with infants and toddlers, and first time parents. I enjoy creating lasting relationships with families, watching children grow and helping families navigate their parenthood journey. I've handled a vast array of medical emergencies, worked with & watched premature infants, medically fragile children, special needs adolescents & energizer bunny kiddos. I think fueling a developing brain with healthy stimulus is very important. Playtime & structured time are equally important, too! I love the inner child that still lingers within me; getting messy & playing outside, coloring in coloring books & painting, making play-dough, dress up & tea parties, reading books, building hot wheels tracks & ramps but I know how to maintain a gentle air of authority at the same. time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in Pediatrics for 5 years as a CMA and back office lead.
As a high schooler, I was always babysitting my younger cousins or neighborhood kids on the weekend, and often helped/worked at day camps during the summer.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children vary from child to child, depending on their age, their own individual interests, etc.
I strive for a healthy mix of creative / free / “unstructured / supervised play and one-on-one/“structured” play.
I love watching a child’s curious mind while we’re outside as they explore the world around them. I also love incorporating art early with children, whether that be paint on paper in a ziplock bag with an infant, or finger paint and playdoh with a toddler, or markers, paint and other crafts with older children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Communication with the nanny and family, building a trusting relationship with the nanny and family, openness and flexibility. Understanding that every family is different, and being able to bend and adapt to that.

My experience with special needs children...

Having a background in pediatrics, I’ve worked with many special needs children. I was also a medical caregiver for a preemie both at 24 weeks. I cared for him for just over a year, from the time he came home from hospitals at 5 months chronological age / 2 months corrected age, until he was 19 months chronological age/ 15 months corrected age. I worked directly alongside his team of medical providers including primary care, GI, neuro, pulmonology, endocrine, developmental pediatrician, Infants & Toddlers program (PT/OT,SLP) to create and carry out a daily plan to help him thrive and grow. I am comfortable with, have knowledge and/or training of, and have care for or handled a variety of special needs including physical differences, medical special needs, and behavioral special needs, developmental delays/challenges, and emotional and sensory processing disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Too many to name! Helping parents navigate their journey through parenthood, whether it be their first time or 4th time. Watching an infant form into a tiny human with their own unique personality. And being so honored to be part of the journey with a family.
