Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have taught children's theatre and dance camps for four summers. My duties involved choreographing and teaching dances, assisting music rehearsals, playing constructive acting and improvisation games, leading "fun" activities such as trivia or karaoke, supervising during meals and breaks, and more. These camps included children ages 3-18, with the bulk of my time spent with 6-7 year olds. During those summers, I also rotated as many as 80 children in and out of the cast of a professional musical. After wrangling so many children at once, two or three is a breeze!
The most important part about being a nanny...
is finding a family whose values align with your own. I value education and creativity and having lots and lots of fun! My ideal family will encourage me and their children to get a little messy (as long as we clean up after), to experiment with as many activities as possible (I teach dance, voice, and piano), and to have a wonderful time as we establish boundaries and learn the benefit of following rules.
