A little bit about me

Hello. My name is Kristina. I was a stay-at-home mom of four for 20+ years. Eight of those years I successfully ran a child care business in my home, where I typically had six children, ages three months to 3.5 years. After I closed my doors I stayed in the business nannying. I like working with children, giving them the space to learn, and a safe and secure environment for them to cultivate a strong sense of self, and confidence, and continuity. My skills include creating a good relationship with children so they feel safe, engaging with them to help them learn and grow, and keeping good communication with parents. I earned a BA in Psychology, with an emphasis on early childhood development, in 2010. This along with personal and professional experiences have provided me knowledge and practice working with children and parents, and a strong understanding of family dynamics. I enjoy gardening, walking, hiking, riding bike, reading, and anything nature.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

While my children were still home, I opened a childcare business in my home, typically full, with six children, ages newborn to 3.5 years. As a nanny I have cared for two children, ages newborn and two years for three years, one year old for two years, and am currently caring for infant twins with special needs. This job will be ending soon as family is relocating.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

One of the best feelings is holding a baby, and engaging with them, and watching them realize the world around them. I enjoy interacting with young children, and watching them learn and grow their imaginations through observation and communication, as well as, helping them learn practical skills to ready them for school. I believe that reading and talking to, going outdoors for walks and play, engaging in games and imaginative playtime, are important for infants and toddlers. And I enjoy providing those opportunities for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I am passionate about children feeling safe, secure, and happy first and foremost. If I can provide that for a child I feel good. They only have one childhood and they deserve the opportunity for it to be happy.
