My experience caring for children spans multiple roles that have equipped me with different skills. As a speech and debate tutor, I developed patience while guiding students through complex concepts, adapting my teaching approach to match different learning styles and confidence levels. This taught me how to communicate effectively with children and help them build self-assurance.
As a volleyball instructor, I balanced maintaining safety with creating an engaging environment where children could develop both athletic skills and teamwork.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building trust - with both the children and parents. Kids need to feel safe before they can truly be themselves, learn, and have fun. Parents need to know their children are not just supervised but genuinely cared for. To me, this means being consistent, communicative, and present. It means respecting family rules while bringing my own positive energy. A good nanny becomes part of a child's support system, as well as someone who encourages their development.

My experience with special needs children...

While I'm still building experience in this area, I've worked with a 9-year-old with ADHD for six months, helping him develop homework routines that worked with his energy levels instead of against them. We discovered that short, focused work periods followed by physical activity breaks helped him concentrate better.
