When I first start with a new family, I like to let the kids show me their favorite toys, favorite shows, colors, etc. When a kid shows a certain interest in one or many topics, I make sure to incorporate those interests into play time. this keeps the kids engaged, while also happy!

The most important part of being a nanny is getting to understand the kids. You want them to trust you and know that they are safe with you. It's important to learn what the kids like so that you connect with them on a level that they feel that way.
