A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Kyra Marangi and I am a junior at UNR studying journalism! I used to babysit all throughout high school for all of my mom’s friends so I am super familiar with all ages. I am super active and I like to be outdoors, play basketball, and go on walks. I love pets and have two golden-doodles at home! I grew up in the Northwest Reno area so I am pretty comfortable driving around the area if you need transportation services as well! One of my main hobbies include my sorority at UNR in Tri Delta, I am the alumni relations director and I also plan events like Parents’ Weekend which is super fun! I also love to travel, hang out with friends, and I also am currently a barista at Starbucks! I am interested in also doing housework, laundry, and I could also be open to light meal prep as well! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been babysitting ever since high school. I used to take care of many children through families I knew through my church and my mom’s friends as well. I have worked with children ranging from infants to 11-12 years old. I also used to be a Certified Nursing Assistant so and I would do rounds in the pediatric floor during my apprenticeship, so I would work with children there as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play outdoors, play sports and get active! I used to be very athletic in high school and played sports like basketball, lacrosse, and track. I have played basketball with boys I have nannied before. I am pretty comfortable however doing most activities with kids and I don’t mind playing games, braiding hair, coloring, or even helping with homework. It really depends on what your children like to do and I will do my best to make sure they are having fun with the activities they like!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing about being a nanny is being trustworthy. Parents need to know they can count on you to take care of their little ones without any worries. You've got to show up when you say you will, follow their instructions to a T, and make sure their kiddos are safe and sound. Building that trust might take some time, but once you've earned it, you become part of the family. It feels amazing to know they rely on you and that you're there to give their children the love and care they deserve!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think my favorite memory is always when I have developed good relationships with my nanny kids and they greet me with excitement when I come over! One memory in particular is when we had a huge group hug right in front of the door with my three kids because they couldn’t contain their excitement!
