I have grown up watching children my whole life, although it doesn't seem like much on a resume, I have watched my nephew for 3 years almost daily, a friends 2 kids for 1 year around 5 times a week, and I've watched my Sister in laws 3 children, when starting mother was hospitalized and the youngest was only 6 weeks old and I was a live in for 10 months.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I like to take the little ones out for walks and keep up with the old school "learning to live without technology sometimes" motto. Going to the park and having fun with our imagination sounds about as right as can be!
My experience with special needs children...
While I was in High school at Tualatin High, I was taking a class that accompanied and lead the special needs children. I was told i had a special touch when it came to the most difficult.
The most important part about being a nanny...
By finally teaching little Jr. how to walk or when he just wasn't going to bed, crying and screaming and instead of being mean I crawled into the crib with him and we layed there watching a movie until he fell asleep. When Little ones have such innocent expressions, not even understanding why something is wrong. I believe those moments are precious and need to be cherished. They don't last very long
