I have experience caring for my younger brother, cousins, and family friends when I was younger, as well as helping with children at church. These experiences taught me to be patient, attentive and responsible while making sure children feel comfortable and have fun. I also take allergies and safety very seriously and always want to make sure I’m aware of a child’s individual needs
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy letting children show me what they’re interested in and joining in with them. I’m happy to play pretend, dolls, action figures, board games, arts and crafts, or watch age-appropriate shows like Disney Junior or Nick Jr. I’m open to whatever the child enjoys while always following the parents’ rules, routines, and preferences.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids are safe, happy, and well cared for is the most important part of being a nanny to me. I want them to have an amazing afternoon with me and create fun memories they can look back on when they’re older, just like my brother and cousins remember the things we did together. I also want parents to feel comfortable knowing that even though I may be a stranger at first, I will take their child’s safety, needs, and well-being very seriously
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have extensive professional experience with special-needs children, but I do have personal experience caring for my brother, who is on the autism spectrum, as well as cousins who have anxiety, OCD, and other individual needs. I understand that every child is different and may need different types of patience, communication, and support.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Back when I watched my brother and cousins I made a movie night with homemade ratatouille, but apparently it’s not ratatouille, but I made it like how it is in the movie and instead of wine we had grape juice and we watched that and then another time we watched the Princess and the frog and I made popcorn, but with green icing on top of it and black sprinkles, and I called it hopping popping corn and they had strawberry milk with it to represent Lottie from the princess and the frog
