I have done various babysitting jobs through the years and have helped my friends with their children as well as raising eight children of my own.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
With the children I am taking care of, I love to read, tell/listen to stories, and draw/color, do sticker/activity books...
Also, playing board games, blowing bubbles, playing with sand/kinetic sand and playdoh are great creative pastimes!! Nature walks and picnics are fun, too, weather permitting!

My experience with special needs children...
One of the families I have been helping since 2018 has four children, now ages 8-16. The three oldest have been given a formal autism diagnosis, all three with different challenges/learning styles. The youngest hasn't been tested but her mom believes she is showing markers and, in my humble, non-professional opinion, I would tend to agree.
I had also worked with a young man from [phone number hidden], (he was 23 when I began my job with him). He is non verbal but can do quite a bit for himself. He still needed help with bathroom duties most of the time. And some help with eating. He could be a runner, so I had to be on high alert to make sure he was safe and secure. He loved to listen to music and go to the zoo and on other outings. I learned so much from working with this sweet young man!!

The most important part about being a nanny...
My little friend Abigail loves to draw and has made many pictures for me... And even sent me a letter in the mail recently saying that she missed me when I had not been by on a regular basis for a few weeks. She enjoys having "picnics" outside in her front yard:

And we spend quite a bit of time going "squirrel hunting"!! ☺️
