More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have a few different experiences caring for children. First, many of my Texas Tech courses have taken place in elementary schools where we had student interactions. I also worked for TEGA Kids Superplex where I got experience in both the infant and 2 year old classrooms. Lastly, I got to do a study abroad in the Dominican Republic. While I was there, I taught a classroom of third graders. Additionally, I have worked as a behavior therapist at the lubbock autism academy since May 2021.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts, going to the park, visiting the library, etc..
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe a huge part about nannying is being a positive, constant role model in the children's lives. It's so important for kids to surround themselves with people they can look up to.
My experience with special needs children...
As a behavior therapist, I have almost a year of experience working with children diagnosed with ASD. Additionally, I have completed practicum and observation hours with children diagnosed with speech and language disorders.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Last summer, I nannied for a stubborn two year old who cried every morning when mom left. The best feeling was when she finally admitted to loving when I come over every day! Her mom caught her multiple times asking, "When will Ms. Laura be back?"
