A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Lorelei, I've been a childcare provider for over five years. I have always had a passion for helping children grow and thrive. My patience is endless and my creativity overflowing, allowing me to connect with children and make learning a fun and engaging experience. I take pride in open and consistent communication with parents, I provide regular updates on their child's day and promptly address any concerns. I respect and follow the household rules set by the household while also striving to create a nurturing and safe environment for the children in my care. With my background in early child development as a former preschool teacher, I have a well rounded skill set to assist with any extra household maintenance such as cooking, meal prep, and light housekeeping. I am excited about the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and their families. I look forward to hearing from you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a childcare provider for 5 years. Over the years I have worked in many corners of the field as I developed my passion for working with kids. The roles I have taken on and given my all to are babysitter, nanny, preschool teacher, and summer camp counselor. My favorite position I’ve held by far is when I was a preschool float. Working with every age group and getting to develop relationships with children from nearly all classes really has been the highlight of my career

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to engage the kids I work with in activities that help develop on one or more motor skills and/or help kids learn through play. I am a big fan of tactile activities with an emphasis on creativity always. My background as a preschool educator leads me to lean towards educational play, even if we’re just learning how we should be kind to our friends! Some teaching topics and elements I incorporate into the activities I plan include sensory play, emotional regulation skills, empathy development (sharing is a good example), arts and crafts, and full body engagement (I love to put on songs and have dance parties, especially when we can learn new things through music!)

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is never forgetting why I started. To keep that joy and magic I find in working with children alive, because that’s the foundation of every day I spend with my kids. I keep that magic alive, and it reaches into every moment I spend with them.

My experience with special needs children...

I am experienced with children on the autism spectrum, having cared for children with various levels of support needs. As somebody with low support needs autism myself, I find myself gravitate towards working with children on the spectrum. I do not have any significant experience with other forms of disability/special needs, however I am always willing to listen and learn how to help support your child best.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A particularly special moment in my career, is the first time one of my kids said her name. My little ray of sunshine was a 4 year old with high support needs autism. We were always working on adding new words to our collection, and part of our morning routine I would sing her songs and leave words blank for her to fill in. Sometimes we sang lots of words, sometimes we sang few, sometimes there were none and that was okay too! But when we sang the name song and she filled in hers for the first time I was so so proud, definitely a moment from my time as a nanny that helps me to remember why I do what I do.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Dallas, NC: Alyssa P.

I am a 24-year-old college student pursuing a degree in Psychology, with a deep passion for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Since beginning my journey as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in October 2023, I have had the privilege of working with children ranging in age from 2 to 18 across all three levels of support needs. My dedication and enthusiasm for the field quickly led to a promotion, and in January 2025, I stepped into the role of Center Assistant while continuing to serve as an RBT IV. I now balance both roles—providing one-on-one therapy sessions in the mornings and assisting in center operations in the afternoons. My hands-on experience, combined with my academic background, continues to fuel my commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families I support.
