Hello 👋🏽 My name is Laura and I have been working with children and families as a teacher for more than 25 years. I have a BA in Human Development with an Emphasis in Early Childhood. As a Nanny, I would plan fun activities at home and field trips to further educational fun! What I would need from you is supplies and funding to visit locations. All the activities would be based on your child’s/children’s interests and based on their age and stage. I believe on play based learning and every activity would be intentionally planned. I am loving but fair and firm. I believe in natural consequences and behavior is communicating some type of need. Children are still learning and as adults it is our job to teach them. I am a Master Teacher. I taught infants, Preschool, and school-age children. I have worked in a classroom setting for over 25 years. The ratios are typically 1:8 preschool, 1:3 infants, 1:4 toddlers, and 1:14 school-age children. I prepare lessons that include whole-child development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy participating in various activities, including art, science, music, and movement, as well as reading stories, attending puppet shows and plays, playing multiple games, engaging in water play, building tents, creating with playdough, slime, and clay, painting, participating in water balloon fights, going on treasure hunts, blowing bubbles, and building box forts. In general, I love making their childhood full of love, magic, and fun, and creating precious memories while learning.

The most important part of being a nanny is ensuring the safety and well-being of the children. This includes providing a secure and nurturing environment, supporting their development, communicating openly with parents, and being reliable and professional at all times.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure of meeting some children with special needs. My nephew has autism and I have worked with him over the years. I am not an ABA. Depending on the needs of the child, I can determine if I will be a good fit for your family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with children is when they finally have that "AHA!" moment. That sparkle in their eye when they finally understand something we have been working on for awhile. I also love the joy I see in their face when they discover something new for the first time. A baby trying a new food, taking thier first steps, or a child writing their name for the first time or riding a bike. Those prescious moments bring joy to my heart.
