Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I did a lot of work in the intercity area of Birmingham for a while with Church team called STRIVE. We would go and play, with feed them and help the clean up their neighborhoods. My family when doing foster care also has to take these classes on child development, abuse and psychology, and tough no accredited the these I learned back then have stuck with me.
Other than that, I am ultimately a mother myself. My brother is 6 years younger than me and so my love for little kids started there and I haven't been able to get enough ever since.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Catherine was the middle child of three kids I nannied for several years and was usually a trouble maker and was not very affectionate with me at all. One day we were out on the porch swing and she just laid in my lap and started playing and talking to me. It was a very rewarding feeling like I'd finally broken through her walls. My favorite line from that experience was just she looked at my super serious and said " I love you but look like a giant cheezit today"
