My experience with special needs children...
I have extensive experience working with children with special needs, particularly ASD. I was previously a care aide to a 14-year old with autism and epilepsy. I also worked as a student teacher in a special needs/Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy school. I now volunteer as a dance instructor in a class offered to children with a variety of special needs/disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I cared for an adolescent with autism who is primarily non-verbal. My favorite memory with her was the first time she spelled out my name on her communication iPad with out being prompted and then gave me a hug.
