Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been a director of children's ministry for a couple of churches- big and small. I have also spent the last several years working in an elementary aged special education classroom, working with students with severe disabilities who are also deaf. I have so thoroughly loved all of these opportunities!!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a big advocate for keeping things exciting and new, so changing our environment and exploring outside is a big part of any nanny role for me. I think especially with younger kiddos, a walk everyday is a must for me! I love cozying them up in a stroller and heading out. Regardless of age, time outside is something I love!
I also really enjoy little field trips out and about- the library, local kid oriented activities, the pumpkin patch, pool days, I’m down to do it all. Of course only as long as the parents are on board and know our plans, I think occasionally getting them out of the house is a blast!

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny for me is the fact that parents have trusted me to love their kiddo while they are away. The weight of that is not lost on me. It's so important to me to love them well while their parents are away and to meet there where they are. There is so much room to grow even during the short time I get to be with your kids-- for them and for me. I probably learn far more from the kids I work with than they do from me. Kids are wise and pure and I want to live my life with the heart of a kid. It is so fun building those relationships as an nanny and I would hope that I leave with the kids having learned something and knowing they have another person in their life who loves them for exactly who they are!
