My name is Lavinia! I grew up in Boise, Idaho and I’m currently a CSU student who is pursuing a career as an oral surgeon. Growing up in Idaho makes you super outdoorsy, I love going on hikes and camping. My hobbies are all over the place, I love to bake, read, hike, and sew. I also really enjoy working on my car. I love to hangout with any type of pets, even a parrot if I have to. I’m super into connecting with my community, I value the positive experiences and people I had growing up that influenced my passion for learning. I spent last year working as a preK-12 substitute teacher, and I adored it. I spent my time in Fort Collins volunteering at SAVA and Crossroads safehouse. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a substitute/day care teacher, coached martial arts, and mentored kids in STEM classes. I was also a consistent babysitter for a neighborhood family. I volunteer in the school district with SAVA, doing peer lead teaching of body positive education and sexual assault prevention.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I think walks/bike rides (if age appropriate) are great! Making fairy houses or race car tracks. Having the kids help out with baking (if age appropriate and with STRICT supervision). I’m not a good artist but encouraging the kids to drawl or paint is so fun. Taking kids to the library if applicable, and other engaging activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The biggest priority is the safety and comforting of the child and family. Making sure that the needs are met and following through with what is asked of you. I am here to support the family and children. Ensuring the children are safe and feeling comfortable while supporting their development.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked in a special needs classroom for a few months. I have a variety of tools to de-escalate and am comfortable with using different means of communication, wether that be a color system, drawing, writing, verbal, signage.
