Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I jokingly like to say that, "I was born a sitter," because I am the oldest of 5 kids lol. I've played part in raising them since I was seven years old. Since then, I have continued to nourish each and every last one of them and their personalities. Aside from that though, I've also baby sat for family members, participated in internships centered around childcare and youth development, as well as experience in facilitating my own classroom full of bright scholars in a summer school setting last summer.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to encourage the children around me to artistically express themselves. I believe that all forms of art are great focus points for their colourful imaginations. I also love going on walks and adventures every now and then. I find that allowing them to explore spaces around them is a great way to bond with them as they develop their personal interests.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Honestly, one of the most impactful and meaningful aspects of my work is being able to create and expand on spaces that ensure emotional safety while fostering youth's creativity as they explore their own sense of self. This is important to me because I think too often parents see children as soley an extension of themselves and not as the individual little humans they're growing up to be:).
