A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Leigh ('Lee'), I am 26 years old, raised in Central GA. Last year, I relocated from Marietta to be closer to my family and the golden isles I visited often as a child. Most of my free time involves entertaining my pets, cooking, building LEGO sets, and playing video games. I enjoy pilates, am a lover of all music, and my favorite genre of book is mystery. I prefer being outdoors, whether it be to learn or just relax.

I speak Spanish at a conversational level with continued daily practice to expand my vocabulary. I am hoping to be certified to teach English as a foreign language by next year to help those who may not be able to afford or find English language classes in their area. I enjoy traveling, my favorite spots being Spain and New Zealand, and I hope to one day experience international travel again.

I am open to all pets, am willing to do light housework, and previously worked as an after school teacher (at my elementary school/where my mom taught!)

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Throughout my life I have babysat for family friends (ages 0-10), was an after school teacher for children in grades first through third, and have experience as a ballet instructor to preschool/kindergarten age kids! Between homework assistance and burning off extra energy, I'll do everything I can to nurture and entertain. I can throw a ball around, swim, teach chess, work on proper dining etiquette, sing- basically, I am willing to try or do anything for you (within reason, to your standards). I would be willing to become first aid/CPR certified.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

While it always depends on what the kids prefer and their age, I love hands-on and outdoor activities. I was raised to be outside whenever I could and that translates to using nature to its fullest potential! I'll incorporate anything from colors and shapes to textures and science on the educational side to dandelion crowns, worms and bugs, plants, and sunlight on the fun side. Indoors, anything from dance parties to Legos to blanket forts is fair game.
