Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve been working with kids since I was 12, when I started babysitting for the family across the street. I stayed with them for years and eventually became their full-time nanny until I left for college. I’ve also worked in afterschool programs supporting kids with special needs, and have been hired to help with homeschooling/tutoring. I’ve cared for children of all ages, from newborns to ninth graders. I’m super comfortable in this work and truly love what I do!
My experience with special needs children...
For all four years of high school, I worked in the special needs program providing after-school care for children and high schoolers with a wide range of disabilities. That experience taught me so much about patience, communication, and connection. I also have close family friends with autism who I’ve grown up with, so working with kids with special needs has always felt natural
