A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Lequon, I'm from New York, but I was raised here in Virginia Beach! I have worked with children of all ages for about 2.5 years now professionally, but I've been watching my siblings for as long as I can remember! I enjoy reading and admiring the outdoors. As of right now, I am currently attending Tidewater Community College, later to transfer to Norfolk State University to obtain my degree in medical science. I am currently studying to become an ultrasound tech. I've always known at a young age I wanted to work with women or children in some way. Now, I am making a dream into my reality! I look forward from hearing back from everyone :)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Back in high school, I would volunteer my time at a local church, down by the oceanfront, reading and helping less fortunate children with their homework. afterwards we prepared dinner and take home goody bags for the children to take with them.
I also worked with babies as little as 3 months all through family friends

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Occasionally, I assist a family friend, who is also military affiliated, by watching her two children! When watching the children, we sometimes bake goodies like brownies or cookies from scratch, have sing alongs to their favorite tunes. For the little girl, I paint her nail with her mothers permission of course and we have play dates with her dolls. For her son, we play with his monster trucks or with some sort of cars he has. Sometimes I even bring my dog, rocky, because they love dogs and enjoy playing with him. I prepare dinner for them, while they watch their favorite cartoon and I have them in bed cleaned and washed no later than 8:30. For the days we do go out, I take them out for ice cream and to a local park in their neighborhood!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most to me would have to be is learning responsibilities all while having a good time! At the end of the day, children will be children and I think it's nice to be considered someones role model and having someone look up to you.

My experience with special needs children...

Although I do not have much experience working with special needs children, back in high school I did work along side a few special need peers of mine at the schools snack vending during my study blocks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment I would have to say is teaching the kids a little bit of Spanish! It's awesome to see their eyes spark up when they learn something new in another language aside from their own.
