Hi, I’m Leslie! I have been working with children for over four years in a variety of roles, including as a teacher’s assistant, special education instructional aide, preschool paraprofessional, and nanny. I have experience caring for children from infancy through elementary school, which has given me the opportunity to work with many different ages, personalities, and developmental stages. I have worked in kindergarten classrooms, supported TK–1st grade students with special needs, worked with children ages 2–5 in a preschool setting, and provided one-on-one care as a nanny for infants and toddlers. I truly love working with children and being someone they can feel safe, comfortable, and happy around. I’m also continuing my education in Child Development, and I hope to continue building a career centered around working with children.

Relevant experience where I have cared for children includes working as a nanny, paraprofessional, and teacher’s assistant. I have worked with children ranging from infancy through elementary school, including children with special needs. My responsibilities have included supervising children, assisting with daily routines, supporting learning and development, planning age-appropriate activities, helping with feeding and toileting, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. These experiences have helped me develop strong skills in patience, communication, behavior support, and responding to each child’s individual needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities with children that are both fun and help encourage their development. Some of my favorites are going on walks and spending time outdoors, reading books together, doing arts and crafts, sensory activities, singing and dancing, playing at the park, and letting them explore through age-appropriate play. I also love coming up with activities based on each child’s age and interests, whether that means tummy time and sensory play with a baby, pretend play with a toddler, or crafts, games, and outdoor adventures with older children. Most of all, I enjoy being silly, having fun, and creating little moments that children can look forward to.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trusting environment for the children in my care. As a nanny, you become such an important and consistent person in a child’s everyday life, so I think it is important for them to feel comfortable, understood, and cared for. I also believe in being patient, dependable, and respecting the way each family chooses to raise their children. My goal is always for parents to feel completely comfortable knowing their child is safe, happy, and genuinely cared for while they are with me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with special needs in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I’ve supported children with a range of developmental delays and behavioral challenges by using patience, consistency, and individualized support. I focus on creating a calm, understanding environment where every child feels safe, included, and encouraged to grow at their own pace.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny experience has honestly been getting to watch the little girl I care for grow up. I started caring for her when she was only three months old, and being there for so many of her little milestones has been incredibly special to me. Watching her personality come out more and more, seeing her learn new things, and getting to experience all of her silly and sweet moments has been so rewarding. Over time, we have created such a special bond, and knowing that I have been someone she feels safe, comfortable, and loved with is probably my favorite part of being her nanny.
