I have been a childcare provider in San Diego CA since 2015, my most relevant care experience is as a daycare provider with Adventures in Play from [phone number hidden] and a Nanny from families around San Diego from [phone number hidden].
I have nannied and babysat for a multitude of families, my longest family lasting 2 1/2 years.
I have nannied for families with children ages 3M-9Y and have experience with children with autism, ADHD, AMD, and level 1 Down syndrome.
Many of the families I have nannied had to unfortunately leave San Diego but are open to providing a reference if applicable to the job!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love letting kids explore, taking children out into nature or on adventures is really important for their social development and in setting good boundaries.
I love taking kids on trips around town, to a bakery or to parks, and I especially try to make sure kids are taken into nature often even if it is just the back yard. In the heat I try to get everyone out early to play in the sprinkler or at splash pads around the neighborhood.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Is being an expert, always willing to learn more about child development, psychology, and theory. A nanny does not just care for the kids, she is an integral part to how the family dynamic works. She can be an advocate for the family, implement better care techniques, and ensure harmful practices are remedied in a safe nonjudgmental environment. The most important part of being a nanny is remembering what a huge impact you can make as a child development expert- a good nanny makes or breaks a family and one should always strive to leave a family better then when you arrived.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worker as a childcare provider and k-2nd teacher for students with ADHD, autism, AMD, and level 1 down syndrome. when working with children in SPED it is important that I maintain a close relationship with the family and am knowledgable about intervention, treatment, or medication the child is using.
Additionally I like to ensure that I can be referenced when needed as a behavioral documenter in cases where the child may be being evaluated for more or less intervention. I am always willing to work with a family and advocate for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments from my previous family was taking the kids to the local bakery. we would always make it a fun trip pretending we were zoologists and all the yards we passed were different animals. It was always so funny to see what the kids would come up with, then we would get to the bakery and have a big breakfast plus a special treat! moments like these where kids are rewarded simply for being a kid always makes our bond stronger, and create special memories I hope they hold onto.
