I worked for the YMCA for 5 years in childcare. I currently work as a Behavioral Technician in west fargo public schools. I am very familiar with children who have high needs and very comfortable with any additional help. I have been a BT for 3 years and am going to school to be a Special education teacher!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Going out doors, using our imagination, reading, playing and joking around! i’m very flexible and can enjoy anything the kids want to do!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think to be someone that is a safe place for children and can help with there needs but also allow them to grow! I think being a nanny is more then just watching a kid, kids remember the smallest things and small problems can be big problems and Id love to get the chance to be a support for kids!
My experience with special needs children...
I have learned a lot during my time as a behavior technician, i’ve worked with many children with autism and understand how to communicate in different ways to get to understand them! I also have work with kids with physical disabilities- sight impaired or in wheelchairs i’m very comfortable making sure they are safe and following their plan to continue growth! I love kids of all personalities i’ve worked in a 90% containment classroom where i do handle high stress behaviors, i am trained in safety care to insure everyone is safe!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think my favorite moments in general being with children is seeing them grow into their own personalities!
