A little bit about me

Hello! I’m a retired 1st & 2nd grade teacher who is interested in a part time nanny position. I have 2 grown children of my own (one is an ER nurse, the other is in her senior year in college), and nannied for a family during my four years at Emory University from [phone number hidden]. Although my cpr certificate has expired, I certainly don’t mind taking a training course again. I live near the Pink Palace museum, so I’m looking for an opportunity in midtown or East Memphis. I love cooking, and trying new recipes. I love being outdoors and walks. My husband and I love traveling which is why I’m looking for a part time position, but I would be available for evening or overnight sitting too! I look forward to hearing from you!

I love playing board games , especially Monopoly, but I love Uno, War and am open to new games!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think being a helpful hand is first and foremost of being a nanny. A quick tidy up, unloading/loading the dishwasher, a load of laundry is a huge help. These are things that children can help with, too!
Reading, drawing and crafts are important too.

My experience with special needs children...

Classroom experience with ADHD including inattentive type.

The most important part about being a nanny...

While in college, the youngest of the children I nannied for was not very verbal. One day, we were playing with Beanie Babies and she said “hello, Zebrraaahhh!” And it was a very sweet moment!
