More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked as a night nanny for a family with two school-aged sons, one of whom was autistic. I also taught English as a second language to school-aged and preschool children. Lastly, I ran an independent tutoring business for elementary, middle, and preschool-aged children, including children with a variety of learning and other disabilities such as ADHD, Autism, Deafness, blindness, and being paralyzed.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love outdoor activities with children, such as going to the pool, hiking, and going to activities such as the zoo or botanical gardens. Indoors, I love any sort of play, including imaginative play, songs, and reading. I try to infuse education into every aspect I do with children, and I love cooking with children. I think baking with young children can be such a rewarding activity for kids, and I love to involve kids in day-to-day activities like cooking and other chores.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked as a night nanny and did respite care for a child with autism. I have tutored children who are blind, deaf (with cochlear implants, I do not speak ASL), wheelchair-bound, and had a variety of learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, IDD, and more.
