A little bit about me

Hi I’m Lily, an 18 year old soon to be Palisades Charter High graduate. I’m looking to do some summer babysitting before I attend UCSC in the fall. I have 1 year of experience and am certified in babysitting and first aid through Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. I was previously CPR certified, but have yet to renew it. I can look after kids ages 3+ and be responsible for making meals, and doing some light cleaning. I love to play games with kids, be physically active as much they want, and help kids with homework. I try to keep them entertained so they don’t rely on the screens, but I know I would watch TV all day if I was their age too!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered for the nonprofit organization Teen Insight Seminars since June 2022. They are occasional week long self growth/discovery seminars for kids ages 12-19. I have been responsible for leading groups of teens in team building exercises, watching over them on breaks, leading bathroom trips, stepping in for one on one activities, and occasionally breaking up some disagreements.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Board games, sports, movies, homework help, trip to the park/pool or some place local and fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the kids feel heard, safe, and connected with. I’ve had nanny’s in the past who didn’t want to do anything with me really. They kind of just did their own thing while I tried to occupy myself. One even had their boyfriend show up to our house! I know some kids, especially older, enjoy being more independent, but every kid is different, and I try to have patience for all of them.

I have no experience with special needs children so far, but I am absolutely open to learning and gaining experience.
