A little bit about me

I’m an 18 year old who has always enjoyed being around kids! I started by being a mother’s helper when I was 8, and from then on I’ve been doing this all I can! My first real babysitting job I did was when I was 15, it was only occasionally but it taught me some good things! My first nannying job was this past year! It was for a family of 6 kids! They are homeschooled kids, so all of them were always around! I watched whoever the mom needed me to watch that day! Along with cooking meals and baked goods, cleaning the house, and mainly entertaining the kids! I have experience with ages newborn to 12 year olds! I also serve in many different areas and ages at my church! I love serving and helping with kids, it’s something I enjoy doing!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve babysat/nanny for 4 years now! I also serve almost every week in the children’s area at my church for all different ages! And have helped out at many camps and kids activities!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going outside with kids! I love taking walks and just playing outside! I also am really crafty so I enjoy doing crafts with kids! I think reading is very important to do with children! And overall I love to just sit down and play with the kids! It’s amazing how kids imaginations work, so I will always go along and play whatever they want! I think it’s also good to do things that help build kids skills!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think one of the most important parts of being a nanny is being present with the kids. If you are with the kids for hours every day I think it’s important to remember that they’re watching you. They’re learning from you how the world works. For me one thing that is really important to me is that I keep my phone away, I never sit down and be on my phone while the kids are right in front of me. My job is to be present with them teaching them things, playing with them, and being their friend! A nanny should not just be someone that sits there and watches the kids, they should be someone who’s a friend and cares for them on a deeper level! Not to replace the parents, but to still show up for the kids in a caring way!

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve never babysat any special needs children, but there are a few at church that I’ve helped out with. It’s mainly being their personal monitor. Helping them do the activities, sitting with them during the lesson, and taking them out of the room when needed!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love how innocent and sweet kids are! I love how they just say whatever is on their mind! I love when the kids start to recognize me! Start to try to say my name (if they’re young)! I had one little girl who pronounced my name a little wrong! The rest of my family started saying my name the same way! I thought it was really sweet!
