Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite activity would be arts and crafts. I love drawing quick portraits of my former students and adding small details that really make it look like them. This was something I did consistently throughout the 10 years I worked at my previous job. I have had many students visit me years later and almost all of them would mention how they still have all of the drawings I’ve ever drew of their child and other things and cherish them. I also have kept every drawing or note from all of my students and have them filled up in binders and notebooks as a special keepsake.
As an art instructor I love making art out of anything! I’ve created so many fun projects using basic art supplies combined with regular household items like aluminum foil, empty toilet paper tubes, coffee filters, sponges, and more. I love creating and the process of art.
Beyond art, I enjoy read books to children, going outside for walks or to the playground, playing games, and encouraging their imagination.

My first babysitting job was with my sister, watching a family with 3 kids who lived a block away from us. Throughout the years, the family grew to 5 kids so it was so nice being treated like part of their family. They even took us to Disney world to help watch the kids and also be able to enjoy the entire Disney experience with them. Fast forward to about 3 years ago when the eldest of the 5 invited us to her wedding. We hadn’t kept in touch as much in the 20+ years since I last saw them. But it was incredibly touching to be invited to share in such an important time of her life. She even sat us at her siblings table so it was so sweet to catch up and see these babies as young adults and how their personalities hadn’t changed one bit. They were exactly as I remembered them to be- the nicest family I’ve ever met!
