A little bit about me

-`♡´- Hello there! I’m Lisa. Thanks for stopping by -`♡´-

I’ve been happily nannying the last 6+ years for children aged 2 months - 12 years. I have extensive experience with kids of all ages but have a soft spot for babies/toddlers. I also regularly babysit for a handful of families.

My current full time position just ended (youngest transitioning to daycare) so I’m looking for my next family. I’m currently interested in working a part-time schedule.

Also open for babysitting opportunities!

I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2010. I was in marketing for quite some time but eventually left to explore alternate career paths, seeking out work that felt more meaningful to me. I happened into nannying mostly by chance and haven’t looked back since.

CPR/First Aid certified with plenty of glowing references :)

I’d love to exchange hellos and learn all about your family and current childcare needs. Hope to hear from you soon!

♡ Lisa

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Besides nannying (as well as babysitting on/off for 25 years), I have previously been a camp counselor, a lifeguard, a tutor, and a volunteer for the children's section at the library.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

There are countless activities I enjoy doing with children, both inside and outside.

Outdoors— I adore parks, full of endless possibilities and joy to be had! Playgrounds are also a must (of course). We tend to heavily frequent both.

Always love visiting libraries and museums (both to partake in kid-centered events/activities or just enjoy them on their own).

I like exploring nature, taking walks and hikes, playing lots of outdoor games, frequenting splash pads in the summer, and riding scooters and bikes. Bubbles and chalk! Meeting up on play dates!!

Indoors— endless arts and crafts, drawing, coloring, sculpture, painting, reading LOTS of books, playing games, building forts, having little dance parties, legos, magnatiles, blocks, puzzles, toys… always something to do :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is trust.

Children deserve to feel safe and supported so they can grow and thrive without fear and parents need to know their children are always in good hands.

Being a good nanny goes beyond helping with routines or just keeping kids busy. It’s about getting to know each child individually and building strong relationships where they feel valued, secure, and know they can always rely on me. I think children do best when the person looking after them genuinely cares about them (which of course I always do!).

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with a range of special needs, including autism, ADHD, and behavioral issues. I am skilled at creating structured, supportive environments that help children feel safe and understood.

My goal is always to provide individualized care that supports each child's unique needs and helps them thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

There have been so many extra precious moments that it feels impossible to choose. But luckily, the first thing that popped into my head was simply HUGS.

The last several years, I've been working predominantly with babies and toddlers and their hugs have meant so much to me. Hugs help so much with expressing emotion, facilitating communication, growing bonds, and building trust.

Hugs as happy hellos, hugs that soothe and promise safety, hugs of celebration, hugs that can dry up tears, hugs to share and connect and show love. Oh and likely my favorite— those big hugs for upset, beyond over-tired little ones that can magically turn me into the comfiest bed ever and they suddenly relax, swiftly falling into baby dreams.
