Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In my experience working at after-school and summer camps, as well as babysitting, I’ve often taken on a caring role for children by being attentive to their emotional and physical needs. Whether it was resolving conflicts between kids at camp, helping them with activities, or simply making sure they felt heard and supported, your focus has always been on ensuring their well-being. I’ve been able to build trust with the children by showing patience, understanding, and a genuine interest in their development, which are essential qualities for someone looking to pursue a career as a guidance counselor.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building a trusting and nurturing relationship with the children in your care. This means creating a safe, supportive environment where the children feel comfortable expressing themselves and growing, both emotionally and developmentally. As a nanny,i’m not just responsible for their physical well-being, but also for helping them develop confidence, independence, and social skills. Consistency, patience, and understanding are key, as children look to you for guidance, security, and reassurance. Being a positive role model and providing individualized care tailored to each child's needs is essential in fostering their overall growth.
My experience with special needs children...
I have valuable experience working with special needs children, which has further strengthened my skills in patience, empathy, and adaptability. Through my time at YMCA events, after-school programs, and camps,’ve interacted with children who have diverse needs, learning to modify activities and communication approaches to meet them where they are. Whether it’s offering one-on-one support during group activities or adjusting games to make them more inclusive,i’ve become skilled at ensuring every child feels involved and understood.I also used to watch over my cousins who had autism. This experience has deepened my understanding of how to provide a nurturing environment that caters to each child's individual challenges and strengths.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A fun moment i had as a nanny was during an impromptu dance party with the kids. One rainy afternoon, when outdoor play wasn’t an option,i decided to turn up some music and let the kids pick their favorite songs. Everyone got silly, dancing around the living room, coming up with their own moves, and laughing together. The kids loved it, and what started as a way to burn off some energy turned into one of their favorite activities. The pure joy and laughter from that moment made it unforgettable!
