A little bit about me

Hi there! My name is Lorie. My son and I recently moved back to Ohio after living in Arizona for three years. While there, I had a Microschool with Prenda where I taught K-5 graders. My 12 year old son was a HUGE help with the littles. I don't know who enjoyed it more! He will be available to help sometimes, if that is something parents are interested in. Before moving to Arizona, I taught 15 years at Benjamin Logan Schools. I also have adult twin girls. My schedule is very flexible, and I am willing to work full or part time. I have a current clean background check, and have had first aid, CPR & Heimlich Maneuver training in the past. I will be taking these again soon, and becoming recertified.

I love reading to/with children, learning, playing all types of games, doing crafts, imaginative play, dancing, singing, exercise, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important parts of being a nanny are keeping the child/children safe and happy, following parental guidelines, playing with them, teaching/learning with them, treating them the way I want my children treated, and being a healthy positive role model.

My experience with special needs children...

I taught one year of 3/4 grade special education. I taught with and am good friends with a family that has a very precious young lady with Downs Syndrome. I had her in my 4th grade classroom, and was her cheerleading coach for two years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment actually happened a few short months ago. I received a request on social media from a girl I babysat when I was only 14! (Which was a very LONG time ago) The things she referred to from our time together were so sweet and kind. I couldn't believe she remembered my name, let alone things we had done. It was a very heart warming conversation! 🥰
