More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Caring for my sister. Ever since she was born, I've looked after and cared for her on many occasions.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Games, talking, television with interaction (if allowed). Appealing to the innocence and wonder of childhood.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is keeping a healthy nanny relationship, especially with kids old enough to talk. It has to be clear that you are their friend, but that you are also an authority figure. Not passive-aggressively of course, just carefully asserting yourself during appropriate scenarios.
My experience with special needs children...
I used to go to a charter school with a younger autistic kid named Malachi. The school wasn't funded very well, so often times I would look after him to make sure he doesn't hurt himself, as nobody else would. He got in fits sometimes, but I was able to talk him out of them and de-escalate. We got along well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I've never officially babysat for money before, but I've had a lot of good times caring for my younger sister. I remember watching her use a couch as support and starting to walk around for the first time.

I embrace a child-led, Montessori-inspired philosophy, with a strong emphasis on supporting each child’s personal, social, and emotional development.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Portland, OR: Olivia K.
Hello, my name is Olivia! I am 24-years-old, and recently graduated from the University of Puget Sound and got a degree in cello performance. I have a passion for music and working with children and teens--therefore I would eventually like to combine those passions and become a cello teacher. I have been a nanny, a babysitter, and a camp counselor, so I am very comfortable around kids. I am goofy, engaging, fun, and honest; plus, I know how to give positive discipline and establish healthy boundaries. I would love to get to know your child and your family! :)
